Brenda Ferguson (July 9, 1959 – March 23, 2015 ) was always intrigued by hands and the stories they tell. One Hundred Hands was a shared artistic endeavor involving a series of 100 paintings. It was an opportunity for you to provide the images she painted...and a chance for Brenda to capture a moment in your time. On this blog she shared your images, the paintings they inspired and the process of creating them. She invited "you to join me, creating art together, hand in hand."

Masterstroke 021

At Carol Marine's workshops, she graciously encourages participants to get close. I took full advantage of this opportunity to soak in everything Carol was saying and doing. Any closer and my nose would have been touching the canvas! I also had my One Hundred Hands project in mind. This is Carol doing a demo...it just happens to be the painting I came home with.

Party Girls 012

Our daughter Sadie celebrated her 14th birthday recently with a sleepover. Once her friends saw some of the paintings and heard more about this project, they were eager to participate. They got to work choosing colors and manicuring each other for their 'photo shoot.' Thanks girls...for being great sports and wonderful guests! The original painting is a gift for Sadie.
